Students, we would LOVE to see you get involved in this year's Community of Readers program! This program promotes the use of the Shepard Learning Commons and Deerfield Public Library along with all-things book related!  It's simple to join--just sign into our Google Classroom using the information shared with you in English Language Arts. 

Each quarter there are 8 different challenges. To submit a challenge, create a Google Slide with a selfie demonstrating you've finished the task. Turn in this Slide to our Google Classroom and you get an entry into our quarterly raffle to win gift cards for all sorts of cool prizes!

Each Monday we set up a #MakerMonday activity in the makerspace in our Learning Commons.  The makerspace offers a wide range of materials and tools from low-tech items such a fabric and thread, duct tape, and blocks as well as high-tech items such as Makey Makey, Spheros, and Bloxels.  The makerspace allows making to be accessible to all of our students, while #MakerMonday encourages students to explore different tools and projects in the spirit of exploration, creativity, and collaboration.
